I'd like to share a story about my time in Afghan with the 2nd brigade, 25th ID.  During a patrol through Kabul, all I could think about was Christ, everyday all I could think about was Him.  As I turned a corner, a kid, about 8 years old, with an AK was running towards me and a fellow battle right behind me.  Running towards us blazing his gun in the air, I watched him for a good second or two, and then he aimed it straight at me.  All I could do was instinct, brought my M4 up and shot him.  I had a prayer in my heart and saw a bullet hole to the right of my shoulder.  I knew my Heavenly Father was watching me and He knew that the little kid was going to aim that weapon at me.  I know that he is with his Heavenly Father, forgiven of those sins that so haunted him.

I'm sorry about the graphic story, but most people don't know what is really happening in Afghanistan.  All we can do is pray and hope for the safe return of those deployed to the middle east.

Thank you.

Yoshi

We appreciate your post. Though I had a medical discharge from the army I still know where you stand. We have several OCS members who are police officers medics EMTs so on and so forth. We also have many prior service. I know it's hard being in a field where you may have to take a life ESP that of a child. I remember when I was in having a class about being a Christian and serving in the military. We are honored to have you as a friend of OCS. The afgan child just shows that what we put in our childrens ears finds it's way to their heart. If some one had spoken love and gods truth to those children no solider would ever be put into a spot like that. Once again Ty my friend and god bless

Your story humbled me... You are the hero, indeed. You are brave soul. I pray that your saved soul will  "spill" into the lost soul so they will know Jesus Christ as you would known.  If you need any extra prayer, let me know! Again, many thanks for your post.

And yes, it is tragic ending of that boy and even with insurg. miliants. Just stay strong and keep us protected and ensures our freedom. Stay strong, indeed. You are blessed.
