I just posted on a thread concerning tithing at http://o-c-s.us/index.php/topic,1093.new.html#new

I did that knowing that I was going to come to the prayer room asking for your prayers.

God has blessed me for a number of years with a job that pays very well working for an insurance company. For those that don't know, I handle large dollar commercial liability losses and specialize in fire and explosion investigations. God has watched my back so many times. I have been blessed with management that loves my work. They know I am a Deacon and by doing a good job it is also a visible witness to them. After all we really work for God so we should do our best.

I got back late last night after working all day digging through a fire scene on an alleged propane gas caused fire to a commercial building. This morning I was tired and grumbling (to myself) that I was overworked and I was not looking forward to typing a bunch of year end reports.

I was told this afternoon that the division of the company I work for has been sold to another major insurer. My co-workers and I were told that we have a job until June 2010. What they did not have to tell me was that with this economy the likelihood of finding a replacement job is going to be tough.

So my prayer request is this:

1. That I maintain a good attitude
2. That I continue to trust that God will take care of my needs
3. That I am receptive to where God wants me to go next
4. That I have a willing heart to go where God leads me

God is good. God has a plan.

Thanks for your prayers.

Praying for you, Deacon. You could be retained by the new company, too.

Will do brother...God always provides that which we need...

Just wanted to update you all and thank you for your prayers. God is good and I give praise to Him.

As of July 1, I was supposed to be out of a job. At the end of May, I interviewed with the company that bought 1/2 billion of our assets. They choose not to hire me and rather hired someone less experienced and younger from my current company.

A week after the interview, I got a call from my boss at home late at night (usually never a good thing). But God is good, for the last 3 years, God has put a Christian man in place as my boss. He said that a manager had just tendered his notice and would I be interested in assuming that job and I had 24 hours to decide. I had done this job about 6 years ago and it would require to fly a desk full time rather than being in the field investigating. I took the job. The good thing is that I can still work from home, my staff is spread throughout New England and also work from their homes. I inherited a staff where the person with the least experience has 15 years in the biz.

The good is that I am employed for the foreseeable future, got a nice bump in pay including yearly management bonus'. Remember in the work place we are working for God. In doing so, others see how we go about our work and it makes God more attractive to them because there is something about us that they just can't put their fingers on.
