Out 4 Lunch

« on: January 58, 01/26/10, 11:2010:18 PM »

Since I have 5 hrs of split time - 7:45am till 12:45pm and looking into getting a laptop.
I've been sleeping in the CR-V as I plug in a 120v electric heater and take my naps at work parking lot (too noisy in the lounge)
I know I probably won't be gaming, yet I want the power too be able too. I know most of you all won't be playing in the morning...
But I know I will have more computer time during my splits than at home.

Am going to want W7 with a solid-state drive and a powerful GPU.
ASUS makes a strong unit with rubber coated palm area keyboard, but its lack in Batt time (1. 1/2 hrs)
17"min screen and prob BlueRay.

You all heard of 3D TV coming out this spring?
I've seen Avatar 2* in 3D (one at I-MAX in Mpls.) and will probably go once again.

BTW - here's something you might like to see, what I've been up to lately:
You-Tube.com/SamaritanElad Error - its a brass base, not chrome...

I have seen Avatar twice, and because my tree-hugging wife likes it so much we will probably see it again.  Have not seen it it 3D, however.

I am a battery life advocate in laptops and netbooks. I  have noticed that when you start plugging in USB devices, like mice and external DVD drives, battery time significantly drops.

I've talked to others that saw Ava both ways - there's no comparison - You Must see it in 3 D
Your wife will then drag you out 2 more times in 3D ! ! !
here - find one near you: http://www.planjam.com/imax.html
or: http://www.reald.com/Content/theatreSearch.aspx?pageID=12 for 3D Theaters

Was looking hard at ASUS but reviews noted a few other problems. Was looking at em in BestBuy.

HEY, its my birthday (just remembered) so need to treat myself to a new system Smiley
