A few years ago, I attended a Family Life Weekend to Remember with my wife. Also there were a few Pastor's that I know. The purpose of the program was to biblically strengthen marital relationships. I saw this video for the first time there.

After, the video the whole room was quiet except for the sobbing of all the men present.

If you have not heard of Dick and Rick Hoyt you are missing out. Dick is a retired marine and his son has been disabled from birth with Cerebral Palsey. Dick Hoyt shows us the lengths of what a real father would go to for the love of his son. Everytime I watch it, I go and hug my boys. How many of us would swim, bike and run a Triatholon by ourselves, let alone carrying our son.

What will you do for your kids today and tomorrow?

It makes you wonder what our Father in Heaven with true Agape Love would be willing to do for us.

Here is their inspirational video to the music "My Redeemer".

Here is their story to the music "I can only imagine"

They have their own website as well.

Yeah, familiar with them too...I hope and pray to be that kind of father some day...

Makes us realize a little more that if our earthly father loves us that much...it'll help paint a clearer picture of how much our heavenly Father loves us...so MUCH more...wow...

Thanks for sharing this!!

godtube.com has the video and your wife and kids can watch videos without accidently seeing something sexually explicit or violent, foul language.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.”

Proverbs 1:7–9

The downfall of a nation comes at the disintegration of the family.

As a father, I want to do everything possible to protect my children. If a burglar were to break into our house, I would let him take whatever he wanted as long as my wife and children were safe. Even so, I want to make sure the devil doesn’t draw my children away from God.

Satan is attacking every Christian today. We can often see his attacks and feel the temptation he has set. Yet many times the devil’s attack on the family is more subtle than we think. Satan knows that in order to ruin lives and turn people away from God, he must destroy families and capture children at an early age.

Over the next few days we are going to take a look at six ways you can protect your children from the devil’s attacks. Even if you are not a parent, you can take these principles and apply them in your life to help protect yourself from the devil.

Set Boundaries

As a parent, you must set boundaries to let your children know what is right and what is wrong. From the beginning, teach them that God has given us guidelines by which to live and that even at an early age, they are to obey God’s commands.

Standards are not meant to rob joy, but to protect us. Proverbs 4:1 says, “Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.” God has given you authority as a parent, and He desires that you set boundaries in the lives of your children to help protect them.

Give Warning

If you desire to protect your children, you must give them warning and apply discipline. Let them know there is a consequence when they cross the boundaries you have set. Enforcing boundaries and applying godly discipline to a child will not push him away. But being permissive and apathetic in your discipline will cause a child to stray. The key is to set up guidelines and administer discipline out of love. Make sure your children know that you love them and you are doing what’s best for them.

Parent, do you desire to protect your child from the devil’s attacks? If so, take these principles and apply them to your life. Let your children know there are boundaries in their lives, and if they cross them, there will be consequences—not given out of harshness but out of love. Show them that discipline is a result of your love for them; show them that you are protecting them from the devil.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

1 Timothy 4:12

You stand between your children and the devil’s arrows of temptation.

Four-year-old Keri was an incessant talker. This made it difficult for her parents and grandparents when it came time to turn off the lights at night. One night while her grandfather was putting her to bed, Keri wasn't ready to stop talking. When he reminded her it was time to stop talking and go to sleep, little Keri replied, “But Papa D, my mouth is not empty yet.”

Small children are often cute and innocent, but as they grow up, they face a world of temptations and attacks from the devil. It is our responsibility as parents to guide them and train them to resist the devil’s temptations. Setting boundaries and giving warnings are two ways of protecting your child from Satan. Today, let’s look at two more ways we can help our children resist the devil’s attacks.

Set an Example

People do what people see. Your children need to see an example of a godly lifestyle in you. They need to see how a true Christian is supposed to live. Many people in the world will give them examples of how to play a sport or how to dress, but they need a godly parent to show them how God wants them to live.

Second Timothy 1:5 says, “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” Thank the Lord for a godly heritage in Timothy’s life! Children need someone they can respect, someone to set an example for them. As a parent, you should show a godly example of the Christian life to your child.

This doesn’t mean that you must be the “perfect parent.” None of us are! We all make mistakes and fail sometimes. But as a godly parent, get back up and continue serving God. Your child doesn’t need a perfect parent; he needs a consistent parent—one that shows an example of a faithful Christian.

Be Wise to That Which Is Good

The world desires to make your children wise to that which is evil. The devil bombards them with advertisements and media to grab their attention and pull them away from godly things. But God desires that your children would be simple to the things of the world and wise unto the things of God.

It is a blessing when I hear of children memorizing Scripture or going soulwinning with their parents. Parents, encourage your child to get involved in church at an early age. Take them soulwinning with you. Memorize Scripture with them. Make sure they are wise to God’s Word and His commands rather than to the things of this world.

How are you actively getting involved in their lives to keep them from falling to the devil’s temptations? Set an example in their lives by personally walking with God each day. Also, encourage your children to fill their minds with godly influences. Make sure you are doing all you can to combat the devil’s attack on your children today.
