Punkbuster is finally working.  Grin  After many different fixes I found the one that works.

You have to un-install then re-install punkbuster with PBSVC.  Then manually run updates with PBSETUP.

Hope that helps with any others having win7 issues.

PS   Starting to like win7 better. It does have some neat stuff in it.

just loaded win7  so of coarse im having the same problem.

what exactly is PBSVC? is it on the punkbuster web site ??

It's a sort of manual updater for Punkbuster.  It can be used to update Punkbuster for any game that uses Punkbuster as a means for cheat/hack detection.  It is available for download at Even Balance (the makers of the program).  Here's the link: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php

So I went into my control panel and removed/uninstalled Punkbuster/evenbalance

I then went to evenbalance web page and installed and updated the program for cod4 and WaW

I still get kicked but when i look in control panel it doesn't show any programs from PB or even balance but when I go to web page it tells me I am up to date. Do i need to uninstall COD4 and reinstall or anyone have any other ideas

 Remo, Good to hear you got it working. When I had the same issue I found all kinds of fixes for it. One of the fixes was to just plug in a head set. LOL
