Out 4 Lunch

« on: July 12, 07/29/10, 03:2010:19 PM »

Last night (7/28) my dad passed away @ 11:35pm
I was down there past few days as we all knew he was going.

He was 96 yrs old but past few years, he was in a Christian nursing home. He had Alzheimer.
He lasted 6 days without food or water as he had a very strong heart.
But blood poison set in from a aneurysm in his foot that never healed so we let him peacefully pass on.
Yesterday, he was unconscious and they kept him medicated so no suffering.
He was in hospice past 3 months.

Pop was a very strong Christian and we all know he is now in Heaven with Jesus.

I do ask for prayers for my mom. She is mostly blind (immaculate degeneration) but still managed to see dad every day.
Mom is glad that he is in heaven now even though its hard to loose one you love.
 Thanks all
Dale

sorry about your loss of your dad. The one thing to rejoice in is he was a Christian and had peace with god. We can be ever so blessed the day we meet our wonderful GOD as he has been able too. Though its sad when we loose family at the same time it eases the pain of seeing them hurt. he had a full life so it sounds. If you need a friend to talk to or share memories with im here GOD bless my friend

Contemporary Night of Praise... Wonderful Worship!

« Reply #10 on: July 03, 07/30/10, 09:2010:18 PM »

My thoughts and prayers go to you, your mother, and your family.  It is a wonderful thing to finally go home to meat our Father, although sad at that time.  It is good to hear that you seem to be taking this loss better than most, knowing that he was a Christian and is going to meat Jesus seems to have helped you.

On a side note, I understand how hard it is to deal with immaculate degeneration as my great aunt is also almost completely blind.  My prayers especially go to your mother's continued health as caring for someone with little to no sight is very difficult.

Thank You All Very Much!
Mom and us are happy for dad as we do know where he is now, so we are secure in that.
The funeral will be a celebration of 96yrs of life instead.
Pop was a cool guy! Full of energy till he hit the 90's and Alzheimer took over. So, he's been
missed for some years already, so to speak.
I Love my Dad

Of course, you love and will miss your dad.  What a wonderful age he reached! My own father was 28 when he died (August 3, 1953) and I was 9; I am 66 years old and it still hurts to this day, even though I know I will see him again before too long. God bless you, Elad.
