I have mixed feelings about it...
The idea seems sound, where one makes the spawning player invisible and invincible, so said player can reach a point of safety before drawing ones weapon to engage. This is somewhat useful if one remembers to use it. However, there is a problem present there. The users gun is holstered until the spawn armor runs out or the user clicks the fire key, which calls up the gun. It only takes about a second for the gun to be pulled, but it's a second where the player is unarmed, visible, and no longer invincible. No big deal? Not so fast... A player who makes it a point to take into account where the spawns are and the players tendency to spawn at them, doesn't need to see the enemy, to know they'll be in that location. It only takes a little planning and self restraint to hold back the urge to burst in like normal. Then, when the unarmed players begin appearing out of their spawn protection looking to shoot at you, they're easy picking, because they have to wait for their guns to be useful. This can be especially disastrous when on a small map like Pool Day or Carnage, where players are forced to rely on quick trigger tactics, because cover is low and the distance to an enemy is short.
