The Slip Of A Tongue
sometimes from anger.

sometimes from pain.

we speak out in frustration.

which is realy insane.

is it really worth it,

to have the last say.

will you be alone tomrrow.

because of to day.

Cute poem Wink
As I have gone through life I have found that for me it is better to speak out when I feel strongly about something than to live with the shame and regret of not saying something when I should have.
As for being alone. I usually find that when I do speak my mind, It time and again solidifies my true friendships and exposes the people who were never really my friend to begin with  Cool

I took it more as a  think twice before you speak kinda thing. not a dont say anything at all sort of thing. but thats the beauty of poetry, everyone has their own interpretation and most of the time they are not wrong Tongue

You are right Spartan. We tend to bring our own life experiences to the table when we read poetry. I can see how a person who tends to speak without thinking would get that out of this poem. Thank you for the insight. I will take it for what it is worth

mine mostly relates to a marriage or very close friendship and deals with always having to have the last say. The way i see it is if that person walks out the door and you never see them again you can never make peace with them. the bible also says dont let the sun set on your wrath or something close to that
