This was my Poppa's recipe that he handed down to me, I think it's Jamaican
4 bananna's
4 Tbs butter
5 Tbs-8 Tbs Brown Sugar (add enough so that sauce is slightly thick no absolutes on measurement)
1/4 cup Brandy or Rum: will cook off
Take a medium Sautee pan or frying pan and put it on the stove, med-low heat.
Dont peel your banannas just slice the tips and then length wise in half, set them aside.
put your butter in the pan, melt it, then add brown sugar, mix them over heat so that they combine into a roue or a thick sauce dont let the sugar burn.
add alcohol and stir until the butter and alcohol go into suspension i.e. they combine
turn up heat to medium
peel banannas and set them in pan
only sautee for about 1 min each side dont want them mushy
pull them out, serve on plate with a scoop of vanilla and drizzle sauce in pan over banannas and ice cream
serve, enjoy the heck out of, and go into a diabetic coma...

Can you eat Bananna's Elad? If so follow this recipe:
Same amount of Bananna's or similar fruit maybe pears for instance
Substitute Brown sugar for Splenda Brown Sugar
Substitute butter for Brummel and Brown yogurt Spread
NO ETOH use Pure Vanilla Extraxt mixed with Rum extract
Sautee @ low heat, do not overheat Brummel Spread,
Sautee Banannas for 1.5 mins
This formula should significantly lower the amount of sugar in th dessert.
Sorry about the Diabetic coma joke, guess it would really cause you a diabetic attack or worse and guys like Cortath and I would have to save ya. If you haveany ideas Im pretty good with figuring out diabetic friendly meals and treats. My Poppa was a diabetic also, guess that why he taught me rather than eat it for himself. Smiley

O, am not offended at all. I thought it was funny too  Grin
But, I probably would try it like the 1st receipt if I had any rum.
I only have beer for making beer batter (onion rings and fish batter) with rice flour.
Doupt I get any rum or brandy anytime soon...
Receipe sounds good though  Cool

What's the recipe for the non-alcoholic version; doubt that I can run to the store and pick up rum!

Hi Neo, ok go pick up some Pure Rum extract, comes in that small Shilling of Spice Islands bottle, be careful though, yah I made them on shift for Cortath and I however learned when you add the extract about a tablespoonfull, it likes to pop and sizzle too much as where the alcohol does not, also cook for only about a min no more, for some reason any more than a minute in pan, and banannas taste burnt (to me) Cort says they taste fine, I am critical of my cooking.
