As I was writing out a check for this build and a quick note to Cortath, a thought came to mind.

The thought was to post some of this thread in the public forum for non-members to see. It would be nice for the "world" to see what fellow Christians and OCS Members are willing to do for our brotherhood. When we edify and support others, it becomes attractive to the "world" to find out more about us and our belief in Christ.

I agree Deacon.....sounds like a good Idea. Maybe after this build is complete.....we can close the thread and move it to a different room, minus my contact info. I'm hoping that we can do more upgrades for members in the future. I'm sure not everyone needs a whole new build, but it's always easier for everyone to throw in a few parts or dollars here and there w/o causing to much of a strain on any one person. I'm really proud to be part of OCS.....and seeing this participation just makes me even more so!! Good job everyone!

Just an update, case and CPU have arrived at my house. I'll start installing mother board and CPU as soon as I get off duty.  Other parts will be installed as they arrive. Etchy may have some graphic cards, and sounds like Heff may have OS.

Graphics cards, HD, CD-RW Drive are all in a box packed to ship in my car... went to mail on Tuesday and Post Office was closed, on Wednesday I decided to UPS it, lo and behold they don't open until 4:30 PM when I have to be at work... Today I just plain forgot.  Will get in the mail tomorrow hopefully.  Someone want to call me after 12:00 Central and remind me lol?

Wow! This computer tower is huge! Pure can throw all kinds of stuff in this thing! I'll be posting pics as soon as I can to show progress. By the way......Goose and Deacon, I received your pledges today. I'll be working on the build tonight on duty.

Well I finally remembered to go by the post office and 1 small (don't remember capacity) IDE Hard Drive, 1 CD-RW Drive(sorry couldn't find a decent DVD drive and SATA DVD Burners run $19 nowadays), and 2 Sapphire 3870's (factory overclocked I think?) were mailed to Cortah via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive in 3-5 days (supposedly).

Great to hear Etchy! I had a chat with Heff as well. Things should be arriving in order of assembly at this point. I'm going to start looking through my stuff and see if I have an extra wireless card, as Pure has informed me his office is wireless. Also wanted to thank Gunny for his contribution. I recieved your check yesterday. Going shopping for some RAM tomorrow.....but at this point it will be the easiest part of this build.  I'll keep everyone updated.....and start taking some pics.

Cool. Heff sent software that arrived yesterday. I'm buying some memory today, as well as a CPU cooler. Etchy sent a package that should be arriving soon. With any luck we should have you all set up and online by the begining of the month.

Update: I got Etchy's package with HD, CD-R, and graphics cards yesterday. You the man Etchy!! Unfortunately I am on duty right now....so will have to wait until I get off duty on Tuesday. Most everything is here now. I am still looking for a decent CPU cooler. The local place didn't have a very good one. I'm going to look at another place while I'm here on duty. Thanks again everyone.

Update: got Elad's donation

I've been assembling, installing, and updating all day and night. We have life now! LOL I'm actually logged into forums and writing this using Pure's computer!! LOL Had a few bugs and snags, and last minute hardware purchases....but it breathes! LOL I'm still planning on posting some pics, but for now I'm just focusing on getting the build finished. Heff, everything installed just fine....thanks. Etchy......graphics and HD work great. I left out the CD-R because only 1 IDE port and wanted to use that for HD only. Instead I went out and bought a DVD writer with SATA interface since I had 4 open ports to use. I've got 4 GB of Corsair Dominator coming from newegg, but am borrowing 2 GB from my Shuttle until it arrives to get everything up and running. Pure!! You better not have lost those BHD disks......or we'll be crackin' that Nutt shell of yours!! LOL

Update: I got PureKnight's contribution in the mail.

For the past few days I've been testing the computer. While I've been on Duty Spades has been jumping in on BHD and putting it through game testing. Everything seems to be working just fine. The case provides plenty of cooling......so no worries there. I'm just waiting on some memory to come in from Newegg on Monday or Tuesday.......and she should be ready to ship. Pure......you'll need to PM me your shipping address so I can get this shipped of to ya. Thanks again everyone! I'm very proud to be part of this great OCS Family!

I'll try to get some post assembly pics after I get off duty....and before I ship out to Pure. Not in photos were a DVD Writer....and Corsair Dominator RAM which is still to be delivered. For now he's been using mine out of my Shuttle computer.

AHHHH!!!! IT IS NO LONGER LOST! NOW IT IS FOUND! The "it" refer to BHD CD!!! I am so gear up to purifiying ya all... the name PUREKNIGHT stomp into your town and purifying ya all. Dont conern with 911 calls (so that Cortath can also play!!)... purifying is not bad thing. GunDount... dont bring gun to sword fight, lady!
