Just a suggestion OCS

Hey everyone and OCS members, I have been thinking about this for the past couple of days and I know not being a OCS member makes this a hard consideration but I was suggesting that if the game length was shortened to 30 min and I go around in other tdm gamerooms and mention to other players that OCS has 200+ maps at 30 min intervals I'm sure more players will come in at all hours of the day. Then this will result in players such as BEST WISHES in different countries and players (SUCH AS ME) who play whenever possible will have some action. Please take my suggestion in consideration and reply when possible. Thanks guys and girls hope to see more of you in the server soon.

I like 30 minute idea. I think I should remind you that OCS are not permitted to advertising in other server becuase it wuold be disrespectful competivitness while our goal to be "friend". I love your concern, thought, and desire to boost the number in OCS. That shown your loyal and compassion. I love you for that.

Do you think OCS would be more attractive to other players if its maps were shorter? Are the maps in other servers shorter? ( I very seldom get out of OCS to see what is going on elsewhere.)

PureKnight has a point about advertizing, unfortunately. If you are not careful in what you say about OCS in other servers, you could get punted out or even banned from them.

Just thought I would put my two sense in about this.  I play on other servers like EID, and SAE.  These servers play maps that are either 20 to 30 minutes long.  If I recall in the past a lot of players would come into the OCS server look at the length of the map, and then leave because it was too long. I personally think playing in a map for 40 minutes is along time.  When we had our server we only had ours set 15 to 20 minutes long, and it was always enough. 

Also about the advertising I wouldn't advise it because it would be rude to the other servers, and disrespectful to OCS's standards.

I also have noticed while playing in your server lately that the maps have been shortened from large to small and medium which is good.  You should also consider putting back a fun day like you had going before.  Like tracer day, or sniper day.  Alot of players also like tunnel maps, but that depends on how long they are.

Well I hope I didn't offend anyone by voicing my opinion.  I love this server, and I want to see it succeed again.  Angel Falls is the future, and I want OCS to be part of that future.  GA has already said that we will be moving on to Angel Falls when it comes out, and will be returning to Nova.  I hope they have a better solution for keeping the cheats out because that is what ruined LW, and slowly ruined BHD.

S'all good Meerkat.  You are correct in that it would be rude to advertise in another server.  Just like us, they are likely wanting people to come in, not go somewhere else.  If someone asks you where you normally play, be mindful and respectful of the host server in your response.

As far as map times...to me, if you're a sniper, like I used to do alot of, maps lasting a while are often a good thing because sometimes it takes a while to travel to a good spot without being seen.  It has taken me the first 10 minutes of a map before.  15 or 20 minute maps would then be just too short.  However, smaller, faster-paced maps may work better on short times like that.  Unfortunately, at least not to my knowledge, there is no way to configure times for individual maps or map-types.  Personally, I like the 30 minute times best, but usually depends on the map more than anything.

I agree with meerkat, i think if we would shorten the time limit more people would play. However i like the 40 min time, especialy on good maps!

Hi All, I like the 20- 30 minute maps myself. I need to get up and go to the bathroom now and then. lol

When there is not many players, the long maps can get boring.

maybe put a 255 kill limit.

We never really get past that all that often anyway, and if we did it would also help to keep things short in the mass murder maps! hehehe

i play on a server called JT a lot and SID or whateva it is only because of the USA time difference, but they have smaller maps and a 500 kill limit and the maps only lat thirty i do think it might work better that way, but as a lot of your maps are big maps as you guys had them designed fro all aspects like snipiing and gunnin, i would suggest a 250/300 limit

No to time limits.
If we have lots of kills, then it means lots of action
 Last thing we want is a map that ends too quickly as at end of any map - some players leave...  Why I've notice in the past that even with complaints of too long maps, they stay till the end anyway...

I know i havent been around lately, my PC completely rejectd BHD for some reason, please let me know when OCS is on other games.

I agree that 30 min games is great.

this post is so old. We do not run BHD anymore but we are camping at AFL now.
