Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.

As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.'

Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.  Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'  The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?  I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship.  I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.  I'll  see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test!  Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself Christian.'

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions.  Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Amen Heff.

A while back my wife and I were shopping. We bought a cart full of stuff which included a VHS/DVD player and recorder. When we got home we realized that we were not charged for the VHS/DVD unit ($100). I always go over my receipts looking for overcharges or mistakes. We returned to the store and went to the customer service desk and told them we were not charged for the unit. They looked at us with a questioning eye and disbelief. I gave them my receipt and showed them the unit. The manager was called over. They still could not believe that we had returned to pay for the unit. I told them that our belief and faith would not allow us to take something we did not pay for. Their jaws dropped and then they offered to take money off the price of the unit as a reward for our honesty. I told them I could not accept but if they felt the need to do something then they should consider going to a Bible believeing church.

As in Heff's example, you never know when you are being tested. Likewise, you never know if following the commandments might lead to an opportunity to bring others to Christ.

Thanks for your faithfulness to the Lord in that Deacon...there are so many that wouldn't think twice about that...people who profess Christ too.  It also serves as a reminder to us all to SEEK out opportunities like that...view all things as an opportunity to share Christ.

I had to confess... I had to. I am guilty. It has like this for a while now. Every Wednesday is my "Burger Day" at school. I always order cheeseburger with crispy fries. They charge extra for jsut one cheese and they are 75 cents. Often the cashier look at my burger and assumed I got no cheese then charge me the price without cheese. So, I paid with smile. I justifiied it everytime. WHAT A UNCHRISTIAN DISPLAY!! So... I want to confess so I wont do similar act again today as today is Wednesday. I know one day (and everyday of course), I would had to answer every account to God and I dont want those silly behavior that I had to answer. (sighing...) here you go.
